Quality Printing. Made to Stand Out.
Screen printing is a proven garment decoration method that produces vibrant, durable designs by applying ink directly onto fabric through a specially prepared screen.
It's particularly effective for producing consistent, high-quality prints across larger quantities of garments, making it a popular choice for businesses, clothing brands, schools, clubs, events and promotional merchandise.
At The Creative Group, we provide professional screen printing services from our workshop in Archerfield, Brisbane.
Our in-house production capabilities allow us to manage screen preparation, colour registration, printing and curing, giving us direct oversight of quality throughout the process.
Whether you're producing merchandise for your brand, uniforms for your team or apparel for an upcoming event, we'll help you select the right garments, printing specifications and production approach.
With access to a wide range of apparel suppliers, we also source the blank garments you need, bringing garment supply and decoration together in one service.

Why Choose Creative?
Local, In-House Production
Our screen printing is carried out at our Archerfield workshop using commercial screen-printing equipment.
We manage the production process locally, including screen preparation, registration, printing and curing. This gives us direct control over production and allows our team to assess print quality throughout the process.
Consistent, Professional Results
Screen printing is particularly well suited to designs that need to be reproduced consistently across multiple garments.
Our team carefully prepares each design and printing setup to achieve clean, well-registered prints that represent your brand professionally.
Great Value for Bulk Orders
Screen printing becomes increasingly cost-effective as order quantities increase.
Once screens have been prepared and the printing process is established, the setup costs can be spread across more garments, reducing the average cost per item.
This makes screen printing an excellent option for larger uniform orders, promotional apparel and merchandise production.
Single & Multi-Colour Printing
We can produce designs using individual ink colours or multiple colours, depending on the artwork and garment requirements.
Our team will assess your design, including colour separations, placement and registration requirements, to determine the most suitable production approach.
Apparel Sourcing & Decoration
We work with established garment suppliers to provide a wide selection of T-shirts, polos, hoodies, workwear and other apparel. By sourcing and decorating your garments through one business, we can help streamline the ordering process.
No Minimum Order Quantities
The Creative Group welcomes orders of all sizes.
However, screen printing involves preparation and setup costs, meaning it may not always be the most economical choice for very small quantities. Where appropriate, we'll recommend alternative decoration methods such as direct-to-film (DTF) printing to achieve a more cost-effective result.
How Our Screen Printing Process Works
1. Tell Us What You Need
Let us know what you'd like printed, the garment styles you're considering, your preferred print locations and approximate quantities.
2. Artwork Preparation & Approval
Send us your logo, graphic or design.
Our team will assess the artwork to determine whether it's suitable for screen printing, including the number of colours, print size and any required colour separations.
We'll prepare a digital mockup showing the proposed design placement for your approval.
3. Screen Preparation & Setup
Once your artwork is approved, we prepare the screens required for your design.
Each printing colour requires a separate screen.
We then set up the printing equipment, align the screens and complete the registration process to ensure the colours are positioned correctly.
4. Printing & Curing
Once setup is complete, your garments are printed using the approved design and colours.
The printed garments then pass through our curing process to set the ink.
After production, we check the finished prints and prepare your order for collection or delivery.
Screen Printing, DTF or Embroidery?
Choosing the right decoration method can make a significant difference to the appearance, durability and overall cost of your finished garments.
At The Creative Group, we offer multiple garment decoration methods, allowing us to recommend an approach suited to your artwork, order quantity and intended use.
Screen Printing
A strong option for larger quantities, repeated designs and artwork with a defined number of colours.
Screen printing is particularly popular for custom T-shirts, merchandise, promotional apparel and larger uniform orders.
Direct-to-Film (DTF) Printing
DTF printing can be a practical alternative for smaller quantities or designs containing detailed, full-colour graphics.
Rather than preparing separate screens for each colour, the design is printed onto a transfer film and applied to the garment using heat and pressure.
This can be particularly useful for complex designs or short production runs.
Embroidery
Embroidery creates a textured finish by stitching the design directly into the garment.
It's particularly well suited to logos on polos, workwear, jackets, caps and corporate uniforms.
Unsure which method is best?
Our team can review your artwork, garment selection and quantities to recommend an appropriate solution.
How Much Does Screen Printing Cost?
Screen Setup Fees
Screen printing requires the preparation of individual screens for each colour and print position.
These setup costs are incorporated into your quote and will depend on the requirements of your artwork and order.
Where suitable, screens or production artwork may be reusable for repeat orders, subject to production requirements and availability.
Can I Supply My Own Garments?
Yes. We can print on customer-supplied garments, provided they're suitable for the printing process.
A $3 per-garment handling surcharge applies to customer-supplied items.
Some garments may require additional assessment or testing before printing.
Getting the Best Value
Screen printing is generally most economical when printing larger quantities of the same design.
If you're ordering a small number of garments or have a complex full-colour design, we may recommend DTF printing instead.
We'll review your requirements and provide a tailored quote outlining the applicable production costs.
Screen printing pricing depends on several factors, including the complexity of your design, the number of colours required and the quantity of garments being produced.
The main factors influencing price include:
Order quantity: Larger quantities generally reduce the average printing cost per item.
Number of print colours: Each colour usually requires a separate screen and additional setup.
Print positions: Printing on the front, back or sleeves may require separate setups.
Garment type: Different materials and garment styles can influence the printing process.
Artwork requirements: Designs requiring significant preparation or colour separation may involve additional work.
Underbase printing: Some designs, particularly those on darker garments, may require an additional underbase layer.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. The Creative Group doesn't impose a minimum order quantity.
However, screen printing involves individual screen preparation and setup costs, which can make smaller orders relatively expensive.
We'll advise whether screen printing or another decoration method offers better value for your project.
-
We can produce single-colour and multi-colour designs up to 6 colours (including underbase).
The number of colours that can be printed depends on the artwork, garment, equipment setup and production requirements.
Each additional colour generally requires a separate screen, which can affect the overall cost.
-
Yes. Screen printing can be used on suitable dark-coloured garments.
Depending on the ink colours and material, a base layer of ink may be required to achieve sufficient opacity and maintain the appearance of the design.
This additional layer is considered as an additional colour when preparing your quote.
-
Yes. Customer-supplied garments are welcome, subject to suitability.
A $3 per-garment handling surcharge applies. We'll assess the garments and advise of any material or production risks before proceeding.
If you supply your own garments we will not take responsibility for any misprints. Please consider using one of our supplied garments to avoid this risk.
-
Vector artwork, such as AI, EPS or suitable PDF files, is preferred.
High-resolution image files may also be accepted, depending on the design and printing requirements.
If you're unsure whether your artwork is suitable, send us what you have and we'll review it.
-
Yes. When appropriately printed, cured and cared for, screen printing can produce a durable finish suitable for regular wear.
Print durability depends on factors including the garment material, ink, production process and laundering conditions.
We recommend following the garment's care instructions to help maintain the printed design. Additionally avoid hot washes and tumble drying.
-
Production time depends on garment availability, order quantity, artwork preparation, the number of printing colours and our current production schedule.
We'll provide an estimated timeframe when preparing your quote or confirming your order.
-
Yes. We can accommodate orders containing different designs, although each variation may require additional artwork preparation, screens or production setup.
We'll assess your requirements and provide pricing accordingly.
-
Yes. We can assist with repeat orders using previously approved designs, subject to garment availability and production requirements.
Where possible, retaining approved artwork and production specifications can help streamline future orders.
Please note that screens are not stored with your design unless you sign up for an account with us and we establish a monthly order. A screen setup fee is payble for each order.
-
Neither method is automatically better. The best option depends on your artwork, garments, quantities and intended use.
Screen printing is often more cost-effective for larger quantities, particularly when the design uses a limited number of colours.
DTF printing can be more practical for short runs or detailed full-colour graphics.
Our team can help you compare the options before placing your order.
